On February 4th, 2016, the 2nd group of participants of the ongoing 39th UNEP/UNESCO/BMUB International Postgraduate Course on Environmental Management visited the Fehr Bulk Waste Recycling Plant in the east of Dresden. The participants were greeted by Dr. Daniel Schingnitz, who had earlier in the day given an introductory lecture on thermal treatment of waste and Mr. Sven Gotscha who is the Chief at the recycling plant. Mr. Gotscha noted the plant treats and recycles various types of plastics, glass and wood. According to him, the aim is to get as much material as possible to enter the recycling process or to reuse them for energy production.
Mr. Gotscha explaining the importance of separating the various types of plastics as is shown in the pictures above.
