Project management days

Some intensive, well received days of project management come to an end. Thanks to the interactive classes by Claudio Detogni participants could revise their previous experience in project design and implementation. In the environmental management course we emphasise these and other general skills like presenting orally and in writing, data visualization as well as proposal writing. To bring any idea to fruition, it is crucial to engage stakeholders, attract funding and to work based on a realistic, acceptable plan.

Visit to the TerraTec trade fair

TerraTec

This year, the biannual TerraTec trade fair showcased again environmental technologies and services. We visited the fair as part of the module “waste management & circular economy” of the current environmental management course. Thanks to Dr. Lohmann we could discuss with many of the exhibitors and gain helpful insights into waste management, recycling, sustainable energy production and consumption and much more, even though the fair was noticeably smaller than during previous editions of the fair.

2015 Environmental Management course has started!

World map (EM38)

The 38th UNEP/UNESCO/BMUB International Postgraduate Course on Environmental Management for Developing and Emerging Countries (aka EM38) has started today with a festive opening ceremony. Prof. Strahringer (vice rector for academic and international affairs at TU Dresden), a representative from the German Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Protection, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) as well as many of our course facilitators and advisors joined us in welcoming the 21 new course participants and one guest student.

We are excited to get to know all the participants and to start classes based on the updated curriculum.
